Little Feather….

This is the name I chose while I was in Indian Princesses at age 9. It seems only fitting now  since I discovered a part of my heritage. I am one of the many undocumented Native Americans alive and well in this country today, who have managed to survive. The time honored tradition of receiving a name is all but nonexistent due to the times we live in.  It is my hope that some day this honor will be bestowed upon me.. in the manner that  our ancestors have shared this custom with their people.  But I digress, I am not here to discuss that in its entirety. I am here to tell you about my family and who I am.. I am a mother of 3 beautiful children: Shane, Larkin and Darbylynne.  I am blessed to be married to the love of my life, my soul-mate, Jeff.   The last 12 years have been an adventure indeed! He is an active duty soldier in the military that has deployed three times so far in 12 years of service.

This blog has been a part of my soul for some time. It has been something that Heavenly Father has encouraged me to create over the years, but some reason or another I just could not get there.  It has taken a while to develop and bring  into fruition. Why is this?  Well, mostly due to my time restraints.  Not only am I  mother and a wife, I am also a graduate student and an avid volunteer.  I place a high value on the act of helping others.  Helping others is as much a part of me as it is breathing. As humans in this world, we are constantly bombarded with technology. We are constantly encouraged to move forward. No value is placed on pondering the consequences of our actions. This can be witnessed in each successive generation since our grandparents.  This blog is about that too.

This blog is a glimpse as to  how I manage my family, my spirituality and that of my family  in this crazy messed up world.  You do not have to agree with it, you do not even have to like it, but at the very least you will understand how I feel about certain aspects of life.  You are not expected to agree with what I “put to pen”,  but I gaurantee a seed will be planted. Something will change. It is my hope you will be more accpeting of yourself at the very least. It is my hope you will  come to know Heavenly Father and how he has influenced my life.  It is my hope you will take time to ponder what is happening in your life. The stories  we tell ourselves and our children are what stimulate growth in us and in our world. Here are some of my stories.

Blessings to you.

In His arms and grateful for it.

Michele
